Research conducted at the Future Lab at Tsinghua University, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, leverages digital technology to create metaverse games. This project focuses on the Japanese UME SYSTEM, a significant heritage of global agriculture.

The goal is to reconstruct and replicate critical agricultural heritage systems within the Metaverse. Using innovative narrative techniques, interactive design, model construction, and XR visual effects, the research aims to preserve agricultural heritage and promote sustainability in virtual environments.
One such initiative is the creation of a metaverse game space that highlights the United Nations Agricultural Heritage Systems, specifically Japan’s Tanabe Plum System. This project combines plum-themed NFTs with local agricultural products, aiming to protect the heritage site and ensure the sustainable development of the plum industry in Japan.
